Another full day of cloud & snow, but visibility was slightly improved (enough to challenge a couple of black diamonds on Goat's Eye Mountain .. more on that later).
This is Banff Avenue, taken from the Hotel. As you can see, a fairly quiet place, but also very picturesque.
This is also Banff Avenue, the green run that takes you from Sunshine Village to Goat's Eye Mountain. Also quiet and picturesque!
The superb lift system takes you to 3 different ski areas in Sunshine - Lookout Mountain, Mount Standish and the highest at 9,200ft, Goat's Eye Mountain.
Most lifts are open quad chairs - fast but chilly, especially at the top!
One of the many gladed runs we sampled today, which had the best of the visibility
A nice gentle run called Meadow Park - we actually found someone else on the mountain to take a photo!
My final run of the day (Christine found the hot chocolate too much of a temptation to join me!). This is a black diamond on Goat's Eye called 'Afterburner', which refers to the state of your thighs at the bottom!!
I keep telling myself this is all good training for the Great Wall of China..
We met a couple from Banff in Scotland on the coach back to the hotel. Ended up popping into a local bar with them.... and left at 10:30pm, still in our ski boots!
