Just got back from the South Coast, having spent the weekend tackling 2 training walks with some of my fellow 'Great Wall' trekkers. We were led by Brian Jackson (pictured below) from a company called Expedition Wise. Brian was fantastic - imparting loads of advice & tips about walking equipment, techniques, China etc. etc.
On Saturday we walked all the way along the Seven Sisters from nearby the beautiful village of Alfriston, and then back again (stopped for lunch just short of the lighthouse on the horizon)
The walks were punctuated by fairly frequent 'briefing sessions' - which were also a good excuse for a breather!
The conversation was very diverse and humourous - with topics ranging from the merits of the 'Shewee' to the dangers of 'pole dancing'!
...and in between, we climbed and descended quite a few hills
Snack time under the fluorescent 'Kisu' shelter - a welcome break from the cold wind, but everything looked pink when we stepped outside ?!
Sunday was cold, but a bright day with great views from Firle Beacon
A great weekend, great company - can't wait for China!! Thanks to Brian, Holly (congratulations!!!) and the rest of the gang!
